Newham Hall is a mixed farm of 460 hectares with sheep, beef, wheat, barley, oats and oilseed rape. There is a mix of traditional farm buildings, dating from 1860, and modern buildings plus 8 cottages including a holiday cottage. The farm is rented from Northumberland Estates. Newham Hall is adjacent to Newham Bog Site of Special Scientific Interest and National Nature Reserve, a 13 hectare mire and reed bed situated below a glacial esker which flanks a glacial kettle-hole. The farm is managed under the Environmental Stewardship Scheme to protect and maintain species, habitats and landscape.
