Stark House Farm

Stark House Farm is a 67 acre grassland farm near Newbury. The farm has over 100 rare breed Saddleback pigs, a herd of pedigree Hereford cattle, free range chickens, a small flock of geese, and a traditional orchard. A visit to Stark House Farm can be used to teach all aspects of the curriculum through learning about farming and the countryside. An Education Pack is available detailing specific curriculum benefits of a farm visit including: river dipping in the River Enborne, learning about historical buildings, discovering and identifying wildflowers, learning about nature conservation, meeting the farm animals. The farmer is accredited under the Countryside Educational Visits Accreditation Scheme (CEVAS) to undertake educational visits on farms.
