Rushy Leasowes & Laburnum House

Rushy Leasowes and Laburnum House holdings (30ha) are situated near the River Severn. The wet floodplain grassland, species-rich hedgerows, wet woodland and pools support an abundance of Biodiversity Action Plan species including birds, mammals and amphibians. The farms are stocked with a herd of pedigree Aberdeen Angus cattle, other beef cattle, sheep, goats and chickens. Rushy Leasowes is a C18th listed building with a C19th brick barn which is a haven for colonies of swallows, house martins and a barn owl. Historical earthwork patterns are very evident in a number of fields and the medieval watermill-site and associated leat are of particular interest.
