The farm comprises 60 hectares (150 acres) of grassland stocked with suckler cows and sheep. It is managed in a traditional way using minimal amounts of chemicals. Because of the rare and interesting orchids and wildflowers found on the farm, part of it has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) for almost 30 years. The species-rich grassland and woods provide habitat for many animals and birds, including deer, fox, badger and barn owl.
