A 250 acre organic fenland farm growing cereals and vegetables, with a unique ‘agroforestry’ system with crops planted between rows of apple trees. The farm uses a range of ‘green manures’ to improve fertility and control weeds, instead of artificial fertilisers and pesticides.
The farm has many environmental features including wildflower corners, bird seed covers and pollen & nectar rich strips. These have been tailored to encourage beneficial insects and seeds for the farms’ rare arable birds, including Lapwings, Corn Bunting, Yellow Hammer and Grey Partridge. The pond and dykes attract waterfowl and the hedgerows are teaming with wildlife.
