The Chestnuts,

This 300ha farm is in several blocks split between the Marsh and the Wolds. It is run by Martin Mackinder with the help of his wife and daughters.
Cropping is cereals and oilseed rape. Suckler cows are kept and the progeny fattened. Other fattening stock is bought.
Lapwing and other waders are being encouraged by the creation of wet grassland and fallow plots for nesting; seed eating birds by wild bird seed plots, overwintered stubbles and low input spring cereals.
Species rich grassland is being created and other grassland managed at a low intensity.

They also have a number of farm cottages for holiday makers and fishing ponds.
