Cools Farm

Cools Farm comprises 180 acres, predominantly grassland, grazed with a herd of native breed Red Poll cattle for beef production.
There is an established signposted history/nature trail with a map and guidebook.

The area has been inhabited since the Bronze Age and several Bronze Age axe heads have been found. There is evidence of Roman, Saxon and Tudor inhabitation and the possible site of a Medieval village.

The lake within the ancient woodland is surrounded by diverse flora and provides varied habitats for birds, bats, butterflies, moths and dragonflies. Several ponds at Cools Farm are suitable for pond-dipping.
