An accessible model Victorian farm built by the local mill owner; Scaife Hall has traditional breeds; Swaledale sheep and Galloway cattle. Explore heather moorland, hay meadows, woodland and rivers; learn about The Victorian’s use of waterpower to drive their mill machinery; watch a sheepdog in action or a sheep being clipped; collect the eggs; see bees collecting nectar from the heather; go on a dragonfly walk; feed the lambs; play picture bingo on a walk around the farm. Use a visit to help teach lifecycles, water, Victorians, habitats, food or healthy bodies. Access for all; including moorland. Close to Swinsty Reservoir.
