Hill Farm

Hill Farm has been farmed for many years in various ways. We have photos and documents to show some of its history. It is a hilly farm and from the tops of the hills many locations can be seen. Ten years ago Hill Farm was a council owned dairy farm and many of the milking facilities can still be seen. Today it is grazed by mainly sheep and there are also goats, chickens and horses on the farm. We also have dogs, cats, ferrets and a guinea pig!

There is an old quarry, a pond and the Tarka trail through the woods at the end of our land. We have tractors, digger and quad bike with trailer as well as a lorry for animal movements. There is a spring with ancient troughs cut out of the side of the road, just above the farm entrance, that locals would use to store foodstuffs and also to water horses on their long climb from Venn Quarry. We are also able to work with you to provide activities to extend the classroom to the outdoors.
