Whittimere Farm

The Snelson family have been farming at Whittimere for four generations and farm a total of 750 acres.  Our crop rotation includes wheat, barley (for seed production), and oilseed rape. Permanent pastures enable us to make quality hay for the equine market, and a livery yard is run alongside the farm business.

Our on-going conservation work has created new wildlife habitats.  Ponds, wetlands, beetle banks, fallow areas, field margins and flower rich field corners have resulted in a notable increase in species and wildlife numbers.
Historic farm buildings make a fundamental contribution to the landscape.  We are proud to have recently renovated a traditional farm building which would otherwise have become redundant.  The renovation has provided up to date facilities allowing us to host group and school visits.

School groups from nursery upwards are welcome and information and activities are tailored to the age and ability of the group and linked to the National Curriculum and projects being covered in class.
