Previously derelict area of the Flanders Road Playing Field in East Ham has been transformed into a 350m2 wheel-chair accessible innovative community garden. The site is run by Bonny Downs Community Association Grow Together Be Together Project.The newly build community garden offers tranquil escape from the urban surroundings and a great outdoor classroom. The garden's facilities are: kitchen garden raised beds with seasonaly grown vegetables, no dig permaculture raised beds, forest garden with fruit trees, herb beds, polytunnel, compost toilet, site office, picnic area with seats and big picnic table, tools shed , compost area, pond and gardener's office.
