George Marshall Medical Museum

George Marshall Medical Museum

For over 10 years we have been fascinating school groups with our engaging workshops about the history of medicine. We are located at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital and have free coach parking. KS2 - 5 visits cover History, Art & Design, English, Science and Citizenship, and are structured around our historical medical displays which include a Victorian apothecary’s shop, the death masks of hanged Worcester criminals and a 19th-Century operating theatre, as well as the use of authentic artefacts from our handling collection. We also have a lecture theatre in which your class can watch our 25-minute film Heroes of Medicine. If you are unable to make it to the George Marshall Medical Museum, we provide outreach sessions and handling boxes to be used within your own classroom. We also provide joint tours and workshops with The Infirmary museum and Elgar Birthplace Museum.
