Guildford Museum

Guildford Museum offers hands-on and fun learning opportunities for schools, located in the heart of Guildford adjacent to Guildford Castle. Set in a series of historic buildings just a couple of minutes walk from Guildford High Street, the Museum is full of charm and interest. Browse our displays of archaeology, local history and textiles, learn about Guildford’s links with celebrities such as Lewis Carroll and Gertrude Jekyll, visit our changing exhibitions (there’s always something new to see).
We have a Victorian area that looks at Victorian toys including a merry-go-ground which you can make work with 20ps and a room set furnished with domestic items from Gertrude Jekyll the great British local horticulturist, writer and designer. Schools can prebook KS1 sessions for the Victorian Playroom and KS2 sessions for the Victorian Schoolroom, experiencing life as a Victorian child. We also have a range of loan boxes available to borrow containing original and replica objects from prehistory up to WW2.
