Coombe Farm

Coombe Farm

We have a positive policy towards encouraging a greater awareness of farming and the countryside, and general education projects . We provide a number of lesson plans that include educational exercises as well as ‘hands-on’ farm visits.

As part of this groundwork we are CEVAS qualified, as well as giving accreditation to staff hosting visits it will also endorse our farms as being an approved place for educational visits.

Group Visits

We welcome school and group visits to Coombe Farm. We can offer an exciting, innovative and different experience that focuses on food, farming and the countryside.

A new demonstration diary has been constructed at Hill Dairy.

We are also able to tailor activities to your needs.

We normally take a class of around 30 students. There will be a maximum group size of 30 children to 1 Education officer .We follow Somerset County Council's guidelines for adult to child ratios in the outdoors doing fieldwork activities. This is 1 adult to 6 children for under 8 year olds and 1 to 15 for over 8 year olds. Thus we require the visiting group leader to bring as many helpers as necessary to fulfill the relevant ratio.
