Oare Gunpowder Works Country Park

Gunpowder was manufactured at Oare for several centuries on a site that has become valuable for wildlife. Visitors are invited to follow the marked trails that lead through the woodlands and grassy glades, past the millpond and discover the remains of industry. Schools are invited to use the education centre under their own steam or with the help of one of our experienced education rangers who can help the group learn about the history and wildlife of the site.
