Ashdown Forest

Ashdown Forest is an ancient area of open heathland and woodland occupying the highest sandy ridge-top of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Forest has national and international protection because of its special wildlife. Exciting educational days are offered for KS1 and KS2 pupils exploring the stunning mosaic of habitats of the Ashdown Forest.

Limited access for wheelchair users. Visitors Centre offering information about the site.

Pricing

Entry to the site is free. Schools can book guided visits and classroom facilities, the first 25 schools to book each year come free, thereafter £145 per visit. The Firends of Ashdown Forest provide a travel busary to refund 25% of coach fees to school within 15 miles of the Ashdown Forest.

Programmes are offered to help children understand and appreciate the wonderful landscape and natural history of teh Ashdown Forest. The Ashdown Forest Education team are able to offer a limited number of pre / post visit outreach sessions to be delivered in local schools within 15 miles of the Forest to supprot this learning.
