Talton Mill Farm Shop and Cafe

Talton Mill Farm Shop and Cafe

My name is Liz Holberton and I am a primary school teacher, farmer's wife and joint owner of Talton Mill farm shop and café situated on a 30 acre rural smallholding about 6 miles south of Stratford upon Avon.
We have developed our farm as a venue for school visits across the key stages as I am passionate about educating children of all ages about how our food is produced and where it comes from. So many areas of the National Curriculum can be met through a visit to a farm both during the trip and through follow up work, as well as it being a really enjoyable learning experience.
Talton Mill is a mixed working farm where we produce fruit and vegetables, rear our own free range pigs, cattle and chickens and run a flock of free range hens that produce eggs. All that we produce is sold through our farm shop. We have a kitchen on site where all our baked goods are made and a butchery that sells our own reared meat plus locally sourced lamb and game, a great working example of field to fork.
Our philosophy is to provide as much seasonal home produce as possible and reduce food miles.
We also have a café which could be available on certain days as either a teaching space, or an indoor lunch area and on warmer days there is plenty of seating and space outside or in our barn.
I feel we have the perfect educational site complete with a qualified teacher.
