Magdalen Hill Down

Packed full of minibeasts, butterflies and birds, Magdalen Hill Down is a very special chalk downland nature reserve on the edge of Winchester. Known as "Europe's Rainforest", chalk grassland has an incredible level of biodiversity which makes it the perfect place to study habitats, plants, insects, butterflies and birds. Experience hands-on learning in our outdoor classroom as you explore Moths and Minibeasts, go on a Seed Safari or hone your surveying skills as a Wildlife Detective.
