The Quadrangle

The Quadrangle

The Quadrangle is an educational space and retreat centre in the Darent Valley in Kent, just 40 minutes from central London. We have a forest garden designed round permaculture principles, a river for wild swimming, a woodland for den-making and large barn for wet weather activities.
The Forest Garden is a great tool to engage students, parents and staff in a wide range of topics relating to soil science and geology, design, food production, healthy eating, well-being and community leadership. We can support 10-30 students to experience forest schooling and child-led play.

A grand hay barn is the centrepiece of the Quadrangle. Built in 1870, it opens directly onto the courtyard and garden. Opposite the big barn, the converted Shepherd’s barn is a more intimate breakout space, with a full kitchen and comfortable sofas, a wood-burning stove and a large kitchen table. The Granary has a large wood burning stove, Rayburn and full kitchen, and can hold groups of up to 25 for talks, workshops and group meals. The Quadrangle sleeps 25 people comfortably, and in the summer months our camping areas, bell tents and airstream caravan provide space for many more.
