Our historic learning centre is one of four outdoor education centres operated by Dorset Council. We provide history lessons from the Stone Age through to the Anglo Saxon/Viking period and have welcomed school visits for over 25 years. In that time thousands of children have passed through our gates and enjoyed memorable experiences of the past. We link your outcomes with realistic skills and crafts. Children take part in seasonal and sustainably resourced activities in or around our historic recreated buildings and follow processes unchanged for thousands of years.
Learning incorporates where things come from, how the world has changed and how the seasons affected our ancestors. The overriding focus of any day or residential visit is the allow children to learn by participating in enjoyable activities.
