Newbarn Farm, Seer Green

Newbarn Farm, Seer Green

Newbarn Farm is a 16 acre farm/smallholding in Seer Green on the edge of the Chilterns providing opportunities to learn new things, experience our living countryside, grow in confidence and promote wellbeing. Our farm is registered with the Soil Association and fully organic. There is a listed barn for wet weather educational use.
We can tailor a farm visit to your needs aligned with different aspects of the curriculum, depending on what you are studying. We can showcase interesting parts of the farm landscape, habitats and local wildlife such as our 250-300 year old orchard, hedgerows, wildflower meadows, grasslands. We can talk about the links between farming and healthy food production, as well as countryside management to ensure good biodiversity that benefits nature - field margins for pollinating insects, promoting bird habitat through large hedgerows and owl boxes, and farming practices that enhance biodiversity to improve soil health and overall ecosystem health. There are also opportunities to understand more about how food is grown in our organic no dig garden, to be hands on with our organic free range chickens and experience all the insects and wildlife we have on our farm.
