Blacksmith Field

Blacksmiths Field is located on Northlands Farm, Winterton, and offers the perfect, CEVAS accredited, educational and fun day out to compliment everyday classroom activities. Northlands Farm has been family run by 5 generations of the James family, who have decided to open their gates to allow our younger generations a chance to enjoy learning outdoors.
All activities are curriculum based and can be amended to ensure maximum learning opportunities for young visitors. During your visit, children will meet and speak to ‘Farmer Will’, see his tractors in action and see the day to day running of a real working farm, followed by hands-on experiences with Ali (who has 12 years experience working in schools and the national curricilum) to further enhance the children’s learning. Example activities include: Soil sampling, water flow experiments, lifecycles of insects and plants, wildlife, plant and bug identification. All can be tweaked to meet all needs and learning oucomes.
On our site there are plenty of handwashing and toilet facilities including accessible, which meet all of the latest hygiene regulations. For ease of access, all main areas are linked by pathways, with signage and information boards. We have an indoor area, where packed lunches can be eaten and bags etc can be left.
We look forward to you visiting soon.
