A 120 hectare arable farm located in the small village of Owston. We grow crops including wheat, barley, oil seed rape and beans and have some historic pasture land which is part of a Scheduled Ancient Monument. With 10 hectares of woodland and many other wildlife areas around the edges of fields we have lots of different habitats for children to explore and learn about including stream dipping, sweep netting and bug hunting in our pollen and nectar mixes and discovering the underground world of soil. We have 25 fully funded visits each year which can be tailored to varying curriculum needs from food production, farm renewable energy, biodiversity management and boosting pollinators to the history of our landscape, soils, water and what farmers are doing to combat climate change. There are so many different learning opportunities for subjects from biology, geography and environmental science to art, history and maths.
