The Countryside Kitchen at Orchard Farm

The Countryside Kitchen at Orchard Farm

Nestled in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside, Orchard Farm is a thriving 350-acre livestock and arable farm in the village of Yelvertoft. We are home to 100 beef suckler cows, 300 breeding ewes, laying hens, and traditional Gloucester Old Spot pigs. Our fields are rich with cereal crops such as wheat, barley, and grass, which we use for hay and silage.

We also take pride in our kitchen garden and orchard, where we grow a variety of fruit and vegetables. Sustainability is at the core of everything we do—we produce much of the food and bedding for our animals and supply high-quality meat to local butchers, pubs, and restaurants. Many of the ingredients we grow are used in our ‘grow, cook, eat’ ethos, forming the foundation of the Countryside Kitchen Classroom. The Countryside Kitchen Classroom is a hands-on, immersive learning environment designed to connect children and community groups with food, farming, and sustainability.

Our sessions provide an exciting opportunity to experience real farm life, from planting and harvesting to cooking and tasting fresh produce. We offer funded sessions for schools that align with the curriculum, making learning about food systems, healthy eating, and the environment both fun and educational.

In addition, we welcome community groups, corporate businesses, and organisations for educational visits, wellbeing sessions, and interactive cookery workshops. During your visit, you can explore our working farm, engage in practical food-based activities, and even take home some farm-fresh produce from our small shop.

Whether you're a teacher looking for an engaging trip for your class, a group seeking a hands-on learning experience, or a business interested in wellbeing sessions, we’d love to welcome you.

We are a CEVAS accredited facility.
