We - The Ernest Cook Trust - run a working hill farm located in Mungrisdale, Cumbria between Penrith and Keswick. We have 550 Swaledale and Texel Cross sheep, a small herd of Belted Galloway cattle, chickens and a couple of Tamworth pigs. We offer the opportunity to experience a day in the life of our sheep farm, meet the animals and explore our beautiful surroundings in the Lake District National Park while connecting to nature and learning outdoors. We offer educational school visits for all key stages, delivered by a qualified primary school teacher and outdoor learning leaders. We work with teachers to plan bespoke visits to meet your educational requirements whilst providing fun, hands-on, exciting learning experiences for all students.
We can host groups of up to 30. We have a large indoor sheep shed, an original stone barn activity room, a workshop and a traditional farmhouse with indoor activity rooms , a kitchen, toilets, hand and boot washing facilities.
We are CEVAS accredited, DBS checked and hold Food Hygiene certificates.
