How Healthy is your Soil?

Use this resource to help students test a soil sample without using complicated equipment to find out how healthy it is.

Teachers can use a number of different soil samples and get small groups or pairs of students to assess the soil using this chart.

Students need to first assess what type of soil it is and what texture it has before then judging how healthy it is by giving a score out of 5 for each of the different criteria.
