Hear from our partners LEAF Education & Grow to School who explain how the recent All for Farm, Food For All Competition enriched the primary curriculum for schools up and down the country! You can also access all the videos and activity ideas launched as part of the competition HERE.

Why not sample some of the many outdoor learning activity ideas or sessions inspired by nature below:

  • Allow children to immerse themselves in these beautiful bite-sized Give Nature a Voice interviews with animals and plants! Each creature and plant is brought to life by a well-known personality, with the line-up including Dame Judi Dench, Jimmy Doherty, Adam Henson and Hannah Stitfall.

  • Sample this super selection of Nature Based Activities all with lesson plans and guidance how to deliver engaging gardening and outdoor learning opportunities provided by Grow to School.

  • We all love sharing a good story and sharing a book outdoors is even better. This Books and Activities to Share Outdoors resource contains 11 carefully chosen picture books and 35 activity suggestions perfect for EYFS and KS1 teachers, also parents, farm educators and forest school leaders!

  • Teachers can use this Story Sticks resource produced by St Nicholas CE First School to guide children in using story sticks when outdoors to develop writing skills. Children create a story stick by collecting a range of natural items from the outdoors and attaching them to a stick.

  • Connect with nature with this Natural Expressions resource - use outdoor art with a focus on line, shape, form, tone, texture, pattern and colour.

  • Help your learners find existing minibeast habitats and make their own Minibeast Hotels wit this marvellous resource produced. by the Royal Horticultural Society.

  • Join Wayne the Worm to learn how important bees are and how they help keep our planet buzzing with this Bee Brilliant video produced by Earth Cubs.

  • Hear from head gardener Emma from our partner Garden Organic who shows How to Build a Pond and how ponds play a key role in supporting wildlife and how to make the most of them.

We also have a chance of winning a beautiful set of singing plushie birds, Countryside Classroom challenge your students to get into pairs, one person is the interviewer and one person is the plant or animal, then record the interview and send to [email protected] by Friday 18th July.
