Greenslate Community Farm is a non-profit organisation in the heart of Orrell, Wigan. With 27 Acres of land, including woodland, streams, ponds, farm animals, and organic food produce, there is a multitude of educational activities to explore. Also on site is a Cafe, open Wednesdays - Sundays from 10am - 4pm, a preloved shop, private allotments, and an organic produce cart selling a range of farm grown fruits and vegetables, as well as organic chicken and duck eggs. The site is open to the public 7 days a week, as well as offering care farm services, forest schools, and rehabilitation schemes, all of which run Monday - Friday.
We welcome anyone that wishes to join for volunteering, to gain valuable work experience and become a vital part of our community and project.

Care Farm

Are you a teacher and know a child with SEND? They could benefit from accessing a Care Farm.

Care Farms provide supervised, structured educational programmes of farming related activities for young people to support those struggling in school, help those with disability, behavioural challenges and improve mental health and wellbeing.
