Why not get festive with these super seasonal activities to keep children busy over the Christmas period.

Ages 4 - 6

  • Use this Spotty Leaves video demonstrating how to use natural materials from farms and countryside to make a variety of arts and craft projects.
  • Use this brilliant Little Whittling resource by Learning through Landscapes to learn how to make mice, skittles and wands by using a good quality potato peeler and a sturdy stick of green wood.
  • Use this universally fun Hape Zome Art activity which involves pounding plants to release their natural pigments into cloth to make seasonal pictures such as Christmas trees.

Ages 7 - 11

  • This Cultural Celebrations booklet produced by LEAF Education contains a variety of activities that can be completed at school, at home or on the farm. All the activities are connected to farming, food and the natural environment with a link to cultural and religious themes.
  • Learn how to make festive wreaths, door hangings, tree decorations and much more with this Christmas Rural Crafts resource. There are even tips for setting up a mini enterprise to raise funds so why not have a go?

Ages 11 - 16
