Be part of the hundreds of schools across the country taking part in exciting farming-themed activities, giving students the chance to discover the world of agriculture!

Farming Fortnight runs from 1st to 18th June this year, with Open Farm Sunday  on 7th June, and there are so many easy ways to take part, why not check out the many activity ideas on the Farming Fortnight Landing Page?

Ages 4 - 6

  • Brand new education video and resource! Meet Valerie, a South African farmer, in this super video and accompanying teacher notes to help students learn about sustainable farming In South Africa -how avocados are grown, harvested and prepared for transport to the UK supermarkets. Follow the amazing journey of Avocados from Tree to Trolley!


  • Learn all about the five stages from Farm to Fork and the importance of local produce and farming with this fabulous resource produced by Earth Cubs. They have also produced this fun Earth Cubs Tractor Power video to celebrate the mighty machines that help feed the world.


Ages 7 - 11


  • Use this A Year in Farming Calendar to begin to learn about British seasonal produce, and make links between British food production, farming, and the environment within your school topics and curriculum.


  • Have a look at this amazing Why Farming Matters Resource pack which has an amazing range of activities linked to the curriculum to encourage pupils to start investigating why farming matters.

Ages 12 - 18

  • AHDB and LEAF have created curriculum linked KS3-KS5 resources that connect classroom learning to real world farming and food production there is a wide range of subjects, see them all out HERE.


  • This Practical Farm Resources for Secondary Learners resource is perfect for delivering structured activities that span a range of topics, from water infiltration and soil structure to waste reduction, genetic selection, and plant diversity in farm habitats.


  • Each of the different activities in this Agri-Business Workbook link to at least one area of the GCSE Business studies syllabus and uses real world examples to help students develop their understanding and application skills.
